About the position

The Acute Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant position at Crozer Health Medical Group offers an exciting opportunity to join an established team covering various surgical services. The role involves providing advanced practice care to patients in collaboration with attending surgeons, managing complex patient responses to illness with a high level of autonomy and expertise.

Responsibilities

• Responds appropriately and timely to trauma activations/alerts.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests, including laboratory tests and radiographic studies to identify and assess a patient's clinical problems and health needs.
• Appropriately prioritizes care for patients.
• Serves as a liaison to enhance communication and to coordinate care among multiple consulting clinical disciplines and the patient and their family.
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team in the discharge process to ensure a safe discharge and/or continuity of care.

Requirements

• Current licensure to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Pennsylvania or ability to obtain a Pennsylvania license.
• 2 years applicable clinical experience preferred, but not required; Emergency Department or Critical Care experience is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals.
• Ability to assess basic concerns from patients and plan appropriate nursing advice.
• Knowledge of and ability to work with electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to details.

• Ability to do minor procedures under supervision (suturing, IV line placement, etc).
