About the position

The Assistant Branch Manager at First Mid plays a crucial role in ensuring exceptional customer service and team member experience. This position involves leading the branch team, maintaining compliance with bank policies, and fostering a culture of sales and customer relationship management. The Assistant Branch Manager supports the Branch Manager and takes on leadership responsibilities in their absence, while also focusing on staff development and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team to ensure an exceptional customer and team member experience.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer and team member information.
  • Communicate and ensure adherence to bank initiatives, compliance, security, and operational policies.
  • Supervise and coach Tellers and Universal Bankers on sales and operational duties.
  • Assist the Branch Manager as needed and provide leadership in their absence.
  • Process customer account requests and maintain a cash drawer as needed.
  • Process consumer loan requests and analyze legal documentation for account openings.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly and efficiently.
  • Inform Branch Management regarding audit integrity, risk management, and security of the branch.
  • Assign and schedule staff to ensure optimum service coverage and workload distribution.
  • Oversee the opening/closing process of the branch.
  • Meet with branch staff regularly to organize sales efforts and communicate changes.
  • Establish regular coaching opportunities with team members to review goals and personal development.
  • Select, train, supervise, and evaluate branch staff to enhance productivity.
  • Identify opportunities to expand and maintain consumer and business banking relationships.
  • Develop goals for the retail team and assess progress to meet corporate initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years' experience in the financial industry.
  • 1+ years of experience in a sales or goal-based environment.
  • Understanding of advanced math functions for analyzing credit and financial information.
