About the position
The Behavior Technician position at Trellis Services, part of LEARN Behavioral, is an entry-level role focused on providing support to children with autism through applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy. The role involves working with children aged 18 months to 12 years, primarily between the ages of 2-8, in their homes or at Trellis centers. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to help children develop essential skills while gaining valuable experience in the field of behavioral health.
Responsibilities
- Support children with autism in learning and developing communication, socialization, and self-help skills through play-based therapy.
- Create lasting, positive change for children and their families.
- Engage in training and skill development for a career in behavior analysis, teaching, occupational therapy, and related fields.
- Assist in implementing ABA therapy techniques as directed by supervisors.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be at least 18 years old on or before the first day of employment.
- Reliable transportation and a valid Driver's License preferred.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Availability to work a consistent weekly schedule, including mornings, afternoons, and/or evenings.
Nice-to-haves
- Bilingual, with English/Spanish fluency.
- Studied, majored, or minored in psychology, education, special education, childcare, behavioral health, health science, or a related field.
- Experience working with children in roles such as babysitter, nanny, tutor, teacher, coach, or camp counselor.
