About the position

The Cashier position at Lowe's involves providing excellent customer service during the checkout process, assisting customers with self-checkout, and ensuring a clean and safe store environment. The role requires active engagement with customers, processing transactions, and maintaining the functionality of checkout areas.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers.
• Proactively greet and engage with customers to recommend products and services.
• Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using cash registers and mobile checkout units.
• Ensure merchandise is accurately scanned and assist with customer orders.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store and working areas.
• Detect signs of theft and communicate security risks to management.
• Assist with the customer experience for in-store pickups.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of experience using a computer for information processing.
• Less than 1 year of experience in a retail environment standing and navigating checkout areas.
• Less than 1 year of experience in a fast-paced self-checkout area.

Nice-to-haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
