About the position

The Cashier position at Lowe's involves providing excellent customer service at the checkout area, assisting customers with their purchases, and ensuring a smooth transaction process. Cashiers are responsible for processing sales transactions, handling returns, and supporting the overall customer experience in a fast-paced retail setting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously.
• Proactively greet and engage with customers to recommend products and services.
• Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using cash registers and mobile checkout units.
• Ensure merchandise is accurately scanned and assist with the Pick Up In Store customer experience.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store and working areas according to housekeeping standards.
• Detect signs of shoplifting and communicate security risks to management.
• Prepare the register area by confirming functionality and stocking supplies.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of experience using a computer for information processing.
• Less than 1 year of experience standing and navigating throughout checkout areas in a retail environment.
• Less than 1 year of experience actively moving throughout a fast-paced self-checkout area.
