About the position

The Cashier position at Lowe's involves providing excellent customer service at the checkout area, assisting customers with transactions, and ensuring a smooth shopping experience. The role requires monitoring self-checkout registers, engaging with customers, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers.
• Proactively greet and engage with customers during checkout.
• Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using cash registers and mobile checkout units.
• Remove security tags and bag merchandise for customers.
• Respond to EAS alerts and manage incoming phone calls.
• Ensure merchandise is accurately scanned and register area is stocked and functional.
• Detect signs of shoplifting and communicate with management.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store and working areas.
• Conduct daily safety reviews and adhere to safety requirements.
• Assist with customer orders and the Pick Up In Store experience.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of experience using a computer for transactions.
• Less than 1 year of experience in a retail environment standing and navigating checkout areas.
• Ability to actively move throughout a fast-paced self-checkout area.

Nice-to-haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Less than 1 year of experience in a fast-paced retail environment.
