About the position

The Full Time Cashier position at Lowe's involves providing exceptional customer service at the checkout area, assisting customers with their purchases, and ensuring a clean and safe store environment. The role requires active engagement with customers, efficient processing of transactions, and maintaining the functionality of checkout equipment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously.
• Proactively greet and engage with customers to understand their needs.
• Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using cash registers and mobile checkout units.
• Ensure merchandise is accurately scanned and assist with customer orders.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store and working areas.
• Detect signs of theft and communicate security risks to management.
• Prepare the register area by confirming functionality and stocking supplies.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of experience using a computer for information processing.
• Less than 1 year of experience standing and navigating throughout checkout areas in a retail environment.
• Less than 1 year of experience in a fast-paced self-checkout area.

Nice-to-haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a retail environment.
