About the position

The Cashier position at Lowe's involves providing excellent customer service at the checkout area, assisting customers with their purchases, and ensuring a smooth transaction process. The role requires active engagement with customers, monitoring self-checkout registers, and maintaining a clean and safe store environment. Cashiers are responsible for processing sales transactions, handling returns, and assisting with in-store pickups, all while adhering to company policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously.
• Proactively greet and engage with customers to recommend products and services.
• Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using cash registers and mobile checkout units.
• Ensure merchandise is accurately scanned and assist with the customer pickup experience.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store and working areas.
• Detect signs of theft and communicate security risks to management.
• Prepare the register area by confirming functionality and stocking supplies.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of experience using a computer for information processing.
• Less than 1 year of experience standing and navigating throughout checkout areas in a retail environment.
• Less than 1 year of experience actively moving in a fast-paced self-checkout area.
