About the position

The Cashier position at Lowe's is a full-time role focused on providing excellent customer service at the checkout area. The cashier will assist customers with self-checkout processes, handle transactions, and ensure a clean and safe store environment. This role requires proactive engagement with customers, product recommendations, and maintaining knowledge of store offerings.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers.
• Proactively greet and engage with customers during checkout.
• Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using cash registers and mobile checkout units.
• Remove security tags and bag merchandise for customers.
• Respond to EAS alerts and manage incoming phone calls.
• Ensure merchandise is accurately scanned and register area is stocked and functional.
• Detect signs of shoplifting and communicate security risks to management.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store and working areas.
• Conduct daily safety reviews and adhere to safety requirements.
• Assist with customer orders and the Pick Up In Store experience.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of experience using a computer for information processing.
• Ability to stand and navigate throughout the checkout areas for extended periods.
• Basic knowledge of customer service principles.
