About the position

The CDL Delivery Driver at Lowe's is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while delivering merchandise to customers. This role involves planning delivery activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of delivery vehicles. The driver will also assist customers with loading and unloading products, ensuring a safe and secure work environment, and adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs
• Seeks out customers to understand their needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise
• Plans delivery activities, prints loading tickets, and delivers merchandise according to schedule to ensure on-time delivery of orders
• Pulls merchandise, builds and bands delivery loads, and loads trucks according to delivery order
• Inspects condition of products before loading for delivery or assisting customer with loading
• Ensures that the loads are safe, secure, and within Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
• Updates delivery and route status on system for tracking purposes
• Unloads, installs, and tests appliances upon delivery
• Verifies daily vehicle inspections and reports and ensures cleanliness, maintenance, and repairs for delivery vehicles
• Completes Department of Transportation (DOT) reporting to maintain DOT certification and CDL compliance
• Detects common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks, and communicates them to management
• Maintains a safe and secure work environment, which may include conducting daily safety reviews and noting hazards
• Operates store equipment as needed depending on specific role and department

Requirements

• Class A CDL License or Class B CDL License with air brake endorsement
• Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one upon employment
• Ability to pass MVR screen in accordance with company requirements
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic
• Must be 21 years of age
• Ability to comply with DOT and CDL regulations

Nice-to-haves

• 1 Year Experience driving a semi-truck/trailer or certification from a driving school
• 6 Months Experience performing in-home delivery or retail customer service
• 3 Months Experience operating a forklift or Moffett onloading/offloading a vehicle
