About the position
The Delivery Driver at Office Depot Inc. is responsible for providing superior customer service while delivering merchandise to customers. This role involves operating company vehicles, ensuring timely deliveries, and reconciling manifests with management. The position requires physical stamina and adherence to safety regulations while navigating various driving conditions.
Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicle, delivering merchandise to customers in a timely manner while ensuring compliance with traffic laws.
- Load and unload packages and merchandise from the company vehicle.
- Assist customers to ensure satisfaction and address any delivery-related inquiries.
- Organize daily manifests for deliveries and reconcile them with management at the end of the day.
- Perform daily checks of vehicles to ensure safe operating conditions.
- Take ownership of customer deliveries, including picking orders and managing the delivery process.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent education preferred.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a related field.
- At least 5 years of personal driving experience and 2 years of commercial delivery driving experience.
- Valid driver's license with no moving violations in the past three years.
- Ability to perform basic computer data entry functions.
- Successful completion of Office Depot in-house certification program.
- Ability to perform physical delivery functions, including bending and frequent lifting of 50 to 75 lbs.
