About the position

The Full-Time Faculty position in Accounting and Finance at North Shore Community College involves teaching a full-time schedule of courses in accounting, finance, and general business. The faculty member will engage in curriculum development, student advising, and participate in college service activities, while fostering student success in a diverse academic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a full-time schedule of Business/Accounting/Finance courses as assigned by the Division Dean.
  • Prepare syllabi and develop/update curricula to address course and student learning outcomes.
  • Serve as academic advisor to assigned students.
  • Participate in curriculum development in collaboration with the entire department.
  • Maintain a minimum of four scheduled office hours per week during fall and spring semesters.
  • Attend required meetings either in-person or virtually.
  • Recommend suitable instructional material, textbooks, and library acquisitions.
  • Participate in assessment of course and program learning outcomes, and program review.
  • Use technology effectively to communicate with students and colleagues, and to enhance classroom learning.
  • Engage in professional development activities to maintain excellence in discipline and in the classroom.
  • Foster student success and address equity gaps through innovative teaching and learning approaches.
  • Actively participate in the general college community and fulfill duties as stipulated in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field.
  • Available to teach in-person classes at campuses in Danvers, MA and Lynn, MA.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.
  • Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or National background check as a condition of employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPA, CFA, CFP, or other accounting/finance industry certification.
  • Prior professional experience in accounting and/or finance.
  • At least one year of successful college teaching experience, preferably at Community College.
  • Experience with online teaching and Learning Management Systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Evidence of excellent verbal and written communication skills.
