About the position

The Full-Time Faculty and Program Coordinator for Digital and Social Media Marketing at North Shore Community College is responsible for teaching various business and marketing courses, including Social Media Marketing and Principles of Marketing. This role also involves coordinating the Social Media Marketing certificate and Digital & Social Media Marketing degree programs, ensuring curriculum relevance, and fostering student success in a diverse educational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a full-time schedule of Business/Marketing courses (typically 15 credit hours) at assigned locations and modalities.
  • Prepare syllabi and develop/update curricula to meet course and student learning outcomes.
  • Serve as academic advisor to assigned students.
  • Participate in curriculum development in collaboration with the department.
  • Maintain a minimum of four scheduled office hours per week during fall and spring semesters.
  • Attend required meetings either in-person or virtually.
  • Recommend suitable instructional materials and library acquisitions.
  • Participate in assessment of course and program learning outcomes.
  • Use technology effectively for communication and teaching.
  • Engage in professional development activities to maintain excellence in discipline.
  • Foster student success and address equity gaps through innovative teaching and curriculum development.
  • Assist with class scheduling for the Social Media Marketing certificate and degree.
  • Conduct program reviews in collaboration with the Business Department.
  • Assist in the recruitment and orientation of new instructional staff.
  • Ensure program curricula are relevant and reflect modern practice.
  • Recruit and host Advisory Committee members to meet workforce needs.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher in Marketing or related field, or a Bachelor's degree in Marketing with three years of relevant industry experience.
  • Available to teach in-person classes at campuses in Danvers, MA and Lynn, MA.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing business and marketing software packages and social media technology.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least one year of successful college teaching experience, preferably at a Community College.
  • Prior business venture experience including developing and operating an entrepreneurial venture or small business.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Evidence of excellent verbal and written communication skills.
