About the position
Galen College of Nursing is seeking Registered Nurses to teach clinical courses in the greater Austin area. The Nursing Faculty - Clinical role involves engaging in the full scope of the academic nurse educator role, which includes facilitating learning, using assessment strategies, participating in curriculum development, and serving as a leader and change agent within the educational environment. This position requires a commitment to the college's mission and values, ensuring a high-quality nursing education for students.
Responsibilities
- Effectively facilitates learning and learner development.
- Creates an environment that facilitates students' learning and achievement of desired outcomes.
- Implements a variety of teaching strategies appropriate to learner needs.
- Uses information technologies and eLearning technology to support the teaching-learning process.
- Provides resources to students that help meet their individual learning needs.
- Serves as a faculty advisor to assist students in achieving their goals.
- Uses assessment and evaluation strategies to assess student learning.
- Participates in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Designs and implements program assessments for continuous quality improvement.
- Engages in scholarship and uses evidence-based research to improve teaching practices.
- Functions as a change agent and leader within the educational environment.
Requirements
- Active, Current, Unencumbered Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the applicable state.
- Minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Degree.
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
