About The Position

The Groundskeeper 1 position at the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma involves maintaining the appearance of the grounds across various properties. The role requires operating lawn equipment, performing landscaping tasks, and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of outdoor areas. This position reports directly to the Landscaping Supervisor and operates on a full-time schedule from Monday to Friday.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid State Issued Driver's License
• Ability to read and follow written or oral directions for tasks.
• Understanding of government public health regulations.
• Knowledge of safety standards related to job performance.
• Physical ability to stoop, bend, kneel, and reach daily, and carry up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate different types of lawn equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, hedge trimmers, edgers, and blowers.
• Pick up trash and perform routine tasks to maintain the grounds.
• Care for established lawns and landscaping by mowing, trimming, edging, mulching, weeding, and planting.
• Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, and hedge trimmers.
• Perform tree, hedge, and shrub care using shears, pruners, or chainsaws.
• Occasionally remove snow and ice from walkways and drives manually.
• Keep work areas clear of clutter and debris.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
