About the position

The position involves providing exceptional customer service at Lowe's, primarily focusing on assisting customers at self-checkout registers, ensuring a smooth and efficient checkout experience. The role requires proactive engagement with customers, monitoring multiple registers, and maintaining a clean and safe store environment. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for training and supervising front-end associates, handling cash transactions, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously.
• Proactively greet and engage with customers to recommend products and services.
• Provide SMART customer service by executing Lowe's customer service policies and procedures.
• Assist customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Respond promptly to customer and employee inquiries, guiding them through the store as needed.
• Coach and train associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities.
• Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using a cash register according to company guidelines.
• Supervise and support the CSA Front End Team, providing coaching and feedback.
• Prepare the register area by confirming functionality and stocking supplies at the beginning and end of shifts.
• Inspect returned merchandise for damages and manage customer orders and receipts.
• Monitor merchandise entering and leaving the store, assisting customers who trigger alarms.
• Detect signs of shoplifting and communicate security risks to management.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store and working areas according to housekeeping standards.
• Conduct daily safety reviews and ensure compliance with safety requirements.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of experience using a computer for information management.
• Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
• 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier.
• Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice-to-haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 to 2 years of experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs.
• 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier.
• 1 to 2 years of experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store.
• 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience in any field.
