As a Head Cashier at Lowe's, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth operations at the checkout area. Your primary responsibility will be to assist customers at the self-checkout registers, monitoring multiple stations simultaneously to identify those who may need help. You will proactively engage with customers, recommending products and services, and ensuring they have a positive shopping experience. This role requires you to be on your feet, moving throughout the checkout area, and performing various tasks such as standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting products to facilitate accurate transactions. You will also be responsible for thanking customers for their business and inviting them back to shop at Lowe's. In addition to customer service, you will be expected to provide SMART customer service by adhering to Lowe's policies and procedures. This includes seeking out customers to understand their needs, assisting them in locating and selecting merchandise, and responding knowledgeably to inquiries. You will also coach and develop other associates, providing feedback and training on departmental duties and sales opportunities. Your role will involve using a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds, as well as supervising the CSA Front End Team to ensure efficient operations. You will also be responsible for maintaining the in-stock condition of the register area, preparing it at the beginning and end of your shift, and ensuring all equipment is functional. Monitoring merchandise entering and leaving the store, detecting signs of theft, and ensuring compliance with safety standards are also key aspects of this position. Overall, you will be accountable for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment while providing excellent service to customers.
