As a Head Cashier at Lowe's, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient checkout experience for our customers. This position requires a proactive approach to customer service, where you will monitor multiple self-checkout registers, assist customers with their transactions, and provide recommendations for products and services. You will be responsible for engaging with customers, ensuring they feel valued and appreciated, and inviting them back to shop with us. Your ability to move throughout the checkout area, standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting will be essential in maintaining an organized and efficient environment. In addition to customer service, you will be responsible for training and coaching associates in various departmental duties, ensuring they are equipped to provide SMART customer service at all times. You will also handle cash register operations, including processing sales transactions, returns, and refunds, while providing proper monetary change to associates. Your role will involve supervising the CSA Front End Team, ensuring they are supported and guided in their responsibilities. You will also be tasked with maintaining a clean and safe store environment. This includes monitoring cash levels in drawers, detecting signs of theft, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. You will prepare the register area at the beginning and end of your shift, inspect returned merchandise, and assist in line vesting to improve checkout turnaround times. Your attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with both customers and team members will be key to your success in this role.
