About the position

We are searching for an outstanding Housekeeper to maintain to the highest standards a newly renovated historic home and report to our Executive Housekeeper. This is an excellent opportunity for a best-in-class candidate to work with a wonderful executive couple with three children and one very happy Golden Doodle. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the home is kept in pristine condition, reflecting the elegance and charm of the property while also catering to the needs of a busy family. The role requires a proactive approach to household management, including the ability to anticipate the needs of the family and provide exceptional service. The Housekeeper will be expected to maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization throughout the home, ensuring that all areas are well-kept and inviting. Additionally, the Housekeeper will be involved in preparing the family for travel, managing dry cleaning, and coordinating with vendors and contractors as needed. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and a positive attitude are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the home to the highest standards.
  • Report directly to the Executive Housekeeper regarding daily tasks and needs.
  • Anticipate the needs of the family, including preparing for travel and managing dry cleaning.
  • Handle fine linens, delicate stemware, and other materials with care and expertise.
  • Use computer and project software to interact with vendors, manage staff, and schedule contractors.
  • Update house manuals and manage special projects as required.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in cleaning and maintaining a luxury property, preferably with experience in historic properties.
  • Experience as a housekeeper in a private estate or luxury hotel.
  • Highly organized and proactive personality.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Comfortable around children and pets, particularly dogs.
  • Intuitive understanding of the needs of a busy family with children.
