About the position

The Full-Time Housekeeper at Columbia Ridge Senior Living is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization within the senior living community. This role involves working closely with residents and staff to ensure a safe and pleasant living environment, while adhering to community standards and policies. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays, and emphasizes teamwork and effective communication with residents and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule housekeeping department members and post the schedule no less than two weeks in advance.
  • Supervise and manage the housekeeping department members.
  • Promote the Artēgan philosophy of 'Celebrating the Art of Life.'
  • Work with the Maintenance Director and Resident Services Director to establish a cleaning schedule for each resident's apartment.
  • Develop a cleaning standards checklist for housekeeping department members to validate that all cleaning was completed as scheduled.
  • Ensure resident apartments are cleaned as scheduled following the cleaning duty schedule.
  • Assist with cleaning of resident apartments and/or inspect when cleaning is done.
  • Schedule and assist with cleaning of common areas daily per schedule.
  • Ensure that chemicals are kept secured at all times.
  • Conduct daily walk-arounds to do spot inspections of assigned areas to ensure they are neat, clean, and well organized.
  • Establish and post a laundry schedule and ensure laundry is washed as assigned.
  • Change resident beds and provide fresh linens per weekly schedule.
  • Assist in the dining room as assigned/requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Prefer background working with elder adults in declining health.
  • Positive attitude with abundant enthusiasm.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours in a 24/7 environment.
  • Ability to identify problems and formulate resolutions.
  • Self-motivated and well organized with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to relate positively and effectively with residents, family members, and staff.
  • Integrity, imagination, initiative, and professionalism.
  • Background check with no convictions in violation of applicable laws.
  • Ability to work as a team member and handle residents appropriately.
  • Understanding of Standard Precautions and infection control measures.
  • Familiarity with resident's rights and responsibilities as a mandated reporter.
  • Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions in emergencies.
  • Participation in mandatory meetings and in-services as directed.
  • Drug and alcohol-free with a clean police record.
  • Documentation of TB testing and potential COVID-19 testing.
