About the position

We are seeking a full-time Immigration Paralegal to join our team at an Immigration Services Company in Plantation, FL. The role involves providing support in various immigration cases, including employment-based and family-based green cards. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in immigration law and is available for an immediate start.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and process a range of immigration cases, including EB-2, EB-1, RFE, Extension of Stay, Asylum, Change of Status, Marriage, and Family-Based Green Cards.
  • Prepare and file legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with immigration laws and regulations.
  • Conduct legal research and gather necessary information to support immigration cases.
  • Maintain and organize client files, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and answering questions regarding their case status.
  • Translate documents and interpret conversations for Portuguese-speaking clients; Spanish interpretation is a plus.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a paralegal, specifically in immigration law.
  • Strong understanding of various immigration processes and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Fluency in Portuguese is highly desirable; Spanish language skills are an asset.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work full-time, 35-40 hours per week.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in payroll processing.
  • Spanish language skills.

  • Minimum guarantee of 35 hours per week with additional hours available upon request.
