About the position

Winchester Cardiology and Vascular Medicine (WCVM) is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Interventional Cardiologist to join their team in Winchester, Virginia. This full-time position is part of a growing Heart and Vascular Program, where the ideal candidate will work alongside a team of 6 Interventional Cardiologists. The practice emphasizes a collaborative team approach, providing opportunities for participation in research and teaching. The facility is part of Valley Health, which includes 6 hospitals, with Winchester Medical Center (WMC) being the largest, featuring nearly 500 beds and state-of-the-art surgical care. WMC is equipped with 9 Cath Labs, including 2 dedicated to electrophysiology and a Hybrid OR/Cath lab built in 2016. The center performs nearly 1000 PCI's annually, along with 160 CABG's, 60 surgical valves, and 120 transcatheter valves, including TAVR and MitraClip procedures. The interventional call schedule is approximately 1 in 5, covering only one hospital, with weekend call at about 1 in 7 weekends. The position offers ample support from advanced practice clinicians (APCs) and a competitive vacation plan. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in peripheral vascular disease and must be able to obtain a medical license in Virginia and West Virginia, as well as a DEA with full prescriptive authority. All candidates must be US citizens, as no visa positions are available. The practice is located in a modern 30,000 sq. ft. office built in 2020, which connects to the cardiovascular lab and inpatient hospital. WCVM also has satellite clinics and provides outreach services at Valley Health Multi-specialty clinics. The position is structured as a 2-year associate role with a pathway to partnership in the third year. The salary is competitive, with potential for management and quality incentives, and includes a comprehensive benefits package, CME allotment, and retirement benefits after the first year of employment. Additionally, moving expenses and a potential early signing bonus are offered.

Responsibilities

  • Join a team of 6 Interventional Cardiologists in a growing Heart and Vascular Program.
  • Participate in research and teaching opportunities.
  • Provide cardiovascular consultative and procedural services at Winchester Medical Center.
  • Engage in a shared call model not exceeding 1:5 nights and weekends without additional compensation.
  • Utilize EPIC as the EMR in both clinic and hospital settings.

Requirements

  • Board Certification/Board Eligibility in Interventional Cardiology.
  • Ability to obtain a medical license in Virginia and West Virginia.
  • Ability to obtain a DEA with full prescriptive authority.
  • US citizenship is required as no visa positions are available.
