About the position

As a Merchandising Service Associate at Lowe's, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring that our merchandising standards are met. This position requires a commitment to SMART customer service, which involves executing Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs effectively. You will be responsible for building strong relationships with vendors, providing direction, and ensuring that merchandise resets are completed according to Lowe's specifications. Collaboration with the Merchandising Service team and your Manager is essential, as you will communicate project priorities, schedules, and project needs, including materials and supplies. In this role, you will spend a significant amount of time on tasks that do not involve direct customer interaction; however, you are expected to engage with customers whenever the opportunity arises. This includes understanding customers' needs and assisting them in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise. You will also be responsible for listening to and responding knowledgeably to customer and employee questions, guiding them through the store and projects as necessary. Demonstrating sincere appreciation to customers and effectively communicating information regarding stock, special orders, and warranty details is vital to enhancing the customer experience. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining in-stock conditions by moving or replacing beams and grids, rotating stock, and building displays using power equipment. You will identify damaged products, remove them from shelves, and ensure that buyback items are prepared for shipping. Additionally, you will update wayfinding and product location signage, confirm product pricing visibility, and work with store leadership to stage clearance and damaged merchandise for quick sale. Ensuring a clean and safe store environment is paramount, which involves completing assigned tasks, maintaining compliance with safety standards, and conducting daily safety reviews. You will also operate various store equipment as needed and maintain point-of-sale signage to ensure accuracy in pricing and product location.

Responsibilities

  • Provide SMART customer service at all times through the execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Build relationships with vendors by providing direction and ensuring merchandise resets are completed according to Lowe's specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Merchandising Service team and Manager by communicating project priorities, schedules, and project needs.
  • Analyze metrics and provide feedback on project execution and in-store service to store, market, and corporate leaders.
  • Engage with customers to understand their needs and assist them in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
  • Listen to and respond knowledgeably to customer and employee questions, guiding them through the store and projects as necessary.
  • Move or replace beams and grids, rotate stock, and build displays using power equipment per reset and/or project instructions.
  • Identify damaged products, remove them from shelves, and ensure buyback items are prepped for shipping.
  • Update wayfinding and product location signage and confirm product pricing visibility.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store and working areas, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to engage with customers effectively.
