About the position

As a Merchandising Service Associate at Lowe's, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring that the store's merchandising standards are met. Your primary responsibility will be to execute Lowe's customer service policies and procedures, providing SMART customer service at all times. You will build relationships with vendors, ensuring that merchandise resets are completed according to Lowe's specifications. Collaboration with the Merchandising Service team and your Manager will be essential as you communicate project priorities, schedules, and material needs. In this role, you will spend a significant amount of time on tasks that do not involve direct customer interaction; however, you will be expected to engage with customers when opportunities arise. This includes understanding customers' needs and assisting them in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise. You will also be responsible for listening to and responding knowledgeably to customer inquiries, guiding them through projects when necessary, and demonstrating sincere appreciation for their business. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining in-stock conditions by moving or replacing beams and grids, rotating stock, and building product displays using power equipment. You will identify damaged products, remove them from shelves, and ensure that all product pricing information is visible and accurate. Additionally, you will work with store leadership to stage clearance and damaged merchandise for quick sale, ensuring compliance with housekeeping standards to maintain a clean and safe store environment. You will be accountable for completing and entering details for all assigned merchandise resets, service, and maintenance tasks, ensuring that all reset displays are safe and in working order. This role requires you to operate various store equipment and adhere to safety requirements relevant to your duties. You will also maintain point-of-sale signage and audit pricing labels to ensure accuracy, following state-specific guidelines on price changes.

Responsibilities

  • Provides SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Builds relationships with vendors by providing direction and checking to ensure merchandise resets are completed according to Lowe's specifications.
  • Collaborates with the Merchandising Service team and Manager by communicating project priorities, schedule, and project needs.
  • Analyzes metrics and provides feedback on project execution and in-store service to store, market, and corporate leaders.
  • Engages with customers to understand their needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise.
  • Moves or replaces beams and grids, rotates stock, builds products, and displays products and support materials using power equipment per reset and/or project instructions.
  • Identifies damaged products, removes them from the shelves, and delivers them to the Return to Manufacturer area.
  • Verifies buyback items and ensures they are pulled, prepped, and ready for shipping.
  • Updates/validates wayfinding and product location signage as well as digital maintenance of this information throughout the store.
  • Confirms that product pricing information is visible and clear and resolves/replaces any missing pricing labels.
  • Ensures compliance with housekeeping standards and programs to maintain cleanliness and organization of store and working areas.
  • Operates store equipment as needed depending on one specific role and department.

Requirements

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and build relationships with customers and vendors.
  • Experience in retail merchandising and knowledge of merchandising standards.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and management.
  • Ability to analyze metrics and provide feedback on project execution.
  • Familiarity with operating power equipment and store equipment such as lifts and order pickers.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in pricing and product displays.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in a retail environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lowe's products and services is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
