About the position

The Merchandising Service Associate at Lowe's plays a crucial role in ensuring that the store meets its merchandising standards and provides exceptional customer service. This position is primarily focused on executing Lowe's customer service policies and procedures while also engaging with customers when opportunities arise. The associate will spend a significant amount of time collaborating with the Merchandising Service team and store management to ensure that merchandise resets are completed according to Lowe's specifications. This includes building relationships with vendors, analyzing metrics, and providing feedback on project execution and in-store service to store, market, and corporate leaders. In addition to merchandising responsibilities, the associate is expected to understand customer needs and assist them in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise. This role requires a proactive approach to customer service, where the associate will seek out customers, listen to their inquiries, and provide knowledgeable responses. The associate will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the store, ensuring that all displays are in working order, and addressing any maintenance issues that arise. The position also involves various in-stock responsibilities, such as moving or replacing beams and grids, verifying buyback items, and ensuring that product pricing information is visible and accurate. The associate will work closely with store leadership to stage clearance and damaged merchandise for quick sale, and will be accountable for completing and entering details for all assigned merchandise reset, service, and maintenance tasks. Overall, this role is essential for maintaining a well-organized and customer-friendly shopping environment at Lowe's.

Responsibilities

  • Provides SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs
  • Builds relationships with vendors by providing direction and checking to ensure merchandise resets are completed according to Lowe's specifications
  • Collaborates with the Merchandising Service team and Manager by communicating project priorities, schedule, and project needs
  • Analyzes metrics and provides feedback on project execution and in-store service to store, market, and corporate leaders
  • Understands customers' needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise
  • Seeks out customers to understand their needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise
  • Listens to and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions
  • Moves or replaces beams and grids, rotates stock, builds products, and displays products and support materials using power equipment
  • Identifies damaged products, removes them from the shelves, and delivers them to Return to Manufacturer (RTM) area
  • Verifies buyback items and ensures they are pulled, prepped, and ready for shipping
  • Identifies damaged or missing signage, displays, and collateral and orders replacements
  • Updates/validates wayfinding and product location signage
  • Confirms that product pricing information is visible and clear and resolves/replaces any missing pricing labels
  • Ensures cross merchandise, side stack products, j-hooks and gravity feed bins are placed appropriately
  • Works with store leadership to stage clearance and damaged merchandise for quick sale
  • Reviews, completes, and enters completion details for all assigned merchandise reset, service, and maintenance tasks
  • Ensures all reset displays are safe and in working order and repaired/replaced as needed
  • Repairs/seals damaged packaging and boxes including peg-hook items
  • Removes all trash, moves cardboard boxes to the bailer, and moves plastic wrap and other debris to the compactor
  • Replaces light bulbs and alerts Facility Services Associate (FSA) when additional maintenance issues are noted
  • Detects common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks, and promptly communicates them to management
  • Ensures compliance with housekeeping standards and programs to maintain cleanliness and organization of store and working areas
  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment, which may include conducting daily safety reviews, noting hazards, keeping aisles clear, and securing doors and gates
  • Adheres to all safety requirements relevant to one's regular job duties
  • Operates store equipment as needed depending on one specific role and department
  • Maintains point-of-sale signage including bin plus beam label stock ensuring all bin locators are placed and price changes are activated
  • Audits and updates pricing labels inside and outside the store to ensure accuracy
  • Follows state-specific guidelines on price changes.

Requirements

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and build relationships with customers and vendors
