About the position

As a Merchandising Service Associate at Lowe's, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our store meets the highest standards of customer service and merchandising. Your primary responsibility will be to provide SMART customer service at all times, adhering to Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs. You will build strong relationships with vendors, ensuring that merchandise resets are completed according to Lowe's specifications. Collaboration with the Merchandising Service team and your Manager will be essential, as you will communicate project priorities, schedules, and needs, including materials and supplies. In this role, while the majority of your time will be spent on tasks that do not involve direct customer interaction, you will still engage with customers when opportunities arise. This includes understanding their needs and assisting them in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise. You will be expected to listen to and respond knowledgeably to customer inquiries, guiding them through the store and projects as necessary. Demonstrating sincere appreciation for customers and effectively communicating information about stock, special orders, and warranty details will be key components of your daily responsibilities. Your role will also involve maintaining in-stock levels by moving or replacing beams and grids, rotating stock, and building displays using power equipment. You will identify and manage damaged products, ensuring they are removed from shelves and processed correctly. Additionally, you will verify buyback items, update signage, and ensure that product pricing is clear and visible. Working closely with store leadership, you will help stage clearance and damaged merchandise for quick sale, ensuring that all products are sorted and stored in their proper locations. Safety and cleanliness are paramount in this position. You will be responsible for reviewing and completing assigned tasks, ensuring that reset displays are safe and in working order. This includes repairing damaged packaging, maintaining cleanliness in the store, and adhering to safety requirements relevant to your duties. You will operate various store equipment and conduct daily safety reviews to maintain a secure work environment. Overall, your contributions will help create a positive shopping experience for our customers and uphold Lowe's commitment to excellence in service and merchandising.

Responsibilities

  • Provides SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs
  • Builds relationships with vendors by providing direction and checking to ensure merchandise resets are completed according to Lowe's specifications
  • Collaborates with the Merchandising Service team and Manager by communicating project priorities, schedule, and project needs
  • Analyzes metrics and provides feedback on project execution and in-store service to store, market, and corporate leaders
  • Understands customers' needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise
  • Seeks out customers to understand their needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise
  • Listens to and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions
  • Demonstrates sincere appreciation to customers
  • Communicates information to customers regarding all stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information
  • Moves or replaces beams and grids, rotates stock, builds products, and displays products and support materials using power equipment
  • Identifies damaged products, removes them from the shelves, delivers them to Return to Manufacturer (RTM) area, and signs off on the products as defective
  • Verifies buyback items and ensures they are pulled, prepped, and ready for shipping
  • Identifies damaged or missing signage, displays, and collateral and orders replacements
  • Updates/validates wayfinding and product location signage as well as digital maintenance of this information throughout the store
  • Confirms that product pricing information is visible and clear and resolves/replaces any missing pricing labels
  • Ensures cross merchandise, side stack products, j-hooks and gravity feed bins are placed appropriately
  • Works with store leadership to stage clearance and damaged merchandise for quick sale
  • Sorts products in bins, drawers and boxes to ensure that they are in the proper location
  • Reviews, completes, and enters completion details for all assigned merchandise reset, service, and maintenance tasks
  • Ensures all reset displays are safe and in working order and repaired/replaced as needed
  • Repairs/seals damaged packaging and boxes including peg-hook items
  • Removes all trash, moves cardboard boxes to the bailer, and moves plastic wrap and other debris to the compactor
  • Replaces light bulbs and alerts Facility Services Associate (FSA) when additional maintenance issues are noted
  • Detects common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks, and promptly communicates them to management and/or Asset Protection
  • Ensures compliance with housekeeping standards and programs to maintain cleanliness and organization of store and working areas
  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment, which may include conducting daily safety reviews, noting hazards, keeping aisles clear, and securing doors and gates
  • Adheres to all safety requirements relevant to one's regular job duties
  • Operates store equipment as needed depending on one specific role and department
  • Maintains point-of-sale signage including bin plus beam label stock ensuring all bin locators are placed and price changes are activated
  • Audits and updates pricing labels inside and outside the store to ensure accuracy
  • Follows state-specific guidelines on price changes
