About the position

As a Merchandising Service Associate at Lowe's, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring that the store's merchandise is presented according to company standards. Your primary responsibility will be to execute Lowe's customer service policies and procedures, providing SMART customer service at all times. You will build relationships with vendors, ensuring that merchandise resets are completed according to Lowe's specifications. Collaboration with the Merchandising Service team and your manager will be essential as you communicate project priorities, schedules, and needs for materials and supplies. In this role, you will spend a significant amount of time on tasks that do not involve direct customer interaction; however, you are expected to engage with customers whenever the opportunity arises. This includes understanding customers' needs and assisting them in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise. You will also be responsible for listening to and responding knowledgeably to customer inquiries, providing information about stock, special orders, and warranty details related to Lowe's programs. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining in-stock levels by moving or replacing beams and grids, rotating stock, and building displays using power equipment. You will identify and remove damaged products, verify buyback items, and ensure that signage and pricing information are accurate and visible. Additionally, you will be tasked with maintaining a clean and safe store environment by completing assigned service and maintenance tasks, repairing damaged packaging, and adhering to safety requirements relevant to your duties. Overall, this position requires a proactive approach to customer service, attention to detail in merchandising, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized store environment. You will be held accountable for completing all assigned duties and ensuring that the store meets Lowe's high standards for customer service and merchandising.

Responsibilities

  • Provides SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs
  • Builds relationships with vendors by providing direction and checking to ensure merchandise resets are completed according to Lowe's specifications
  • Collaborates with the Merchandising Service team and Manager by communicating project priorities, schedule, and project needs
  • Analyzes metrics and provides feedback on project execution and in-store service to store, market, and corporate leaders
  • Understands customers' needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise
  • Seeks out customers to understand their needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise
  • Listens to and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions
  • Demonstrates sincere appreciation to customers
  • Communicates information to customers regarding all stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information
  • Moves or replaces beams and grids, rotates stock, builds products, and displays products and support materials using power equipment
  • Identifies damaged products, removes them from the shelves, and delivers them to Return to Manufacturer (RTM) area
  • Verifies buyback items and ensures they are pulled, prepped, and ready for shipping
  • Identifies damaged or missing signage, displays, and collateral and orders replacements
  • Updates/validates wayfinding and product location signage
  • Confirms that product pricing information is visible and clear and resolves/replaces any missing pricing labels
  • Ensures cross merchandise, side stack products, j-hooks and gravity feed bins are placed appropriately
  • Works with store leadership to stage clearance and damaged merchandise for quick sale
  • Sorts products in bins, drawers and boxes to ensure that they are in the proper location
  • Reviews, completes, and enters completion details for all assigned merchandise reset, service, and maintenance tasks
  • Ensures all reset displays are safe and in working order and repaired/replaced as needed
  • Repairs/seals damaged packaging and boxes including peg-hook items
  • Removes all trash, moves cardboard boxes to the bailer, and moves plastic wrap and other debris to the compactor
  • Replaces light bulbs and alerts Facility Services Associate (FSA) when additional maintenance issues are noted
  • Detects common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks, and promptly communicates them to management
  • Ensures compliance with housekeeping standards and programs to maintain cleanliness and organization of store and working areas
  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment, which may include conducting daily safety reviews, noting hazards, keeping aisles clear, and securing doors and gates
  • Adheres to all safety requirements relevant to one's regular job duties
  • Operates store equipment as needed depending on one specific role and department
  • Maintains point-of-sale signage including bin plus beam label stock
  • Audits and updates pricing labels inside and outside the store to ensure accuracy
  • Follows state-specific guidelines on price changes.

Requirements

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and build relationships with customers and vendors
