About the position

The Customer Service role at Lowe's focuses on delivering exceptional service to customers while ensuring that store operations run smoothly. The position involves collaborating with various teams to manage merchandise resets, analyze project metrics, and maintain a clean and safe store environment. Although direct customer interaction is limited, the individual is expected to engage with customers when opportunities arise, assisting them with their needs and providing information about products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Provides SMART customer service through the execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Builds relationships with vendors and ensures merchandise resets are completed according to specifications.
  • Collaborates with the Merchandising Service team and Manager to communicate project priorities and needs.
  • Analyzes metrics and provides feedback on project execution and in-store service to leadership.
  • Understands customers' needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise.
  • Seeks out customers to understand their needs and assists them accordingly.
  • Listens to and responds knowledgeably to customer and employee questions, guiding them through projects when necessary.
  • Demonstrates appreciation to customers and communicates information regarding stock and special orders.
  • Moves or replaces beams and grids, rotates stock, and builds displays using power equipment.
  • Identifies and removes damaged products, ensuring they are signed off as defective.
  • Verifies buyback items and prepares them for shipping.
  • Orders replacements for damaged or missing signage and updates product location signage.
  • Confirms visibility of product pricing information and resolves any missing labels.
  • Works with store leadership to stage clearance and damaged merchandise for sale.
  • Sorts products to ensure proper location in bins, drawers, and boxes.
  • Reviews and enters completion details for assigned tasks, including uploading photographs.
  • Ensures reset displays are safe and in working order, repairing or replacing as needed.
  • Removes trash and debris, maintaining cleanliness in the store.
  • Replaces light bulbs and alerts maintenance for additional issues.
  • Detects signs of theft and communicates them to management.
  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment, conducting daily safety reviews.
  • Operates store equipment as needed for the role.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills and ability to engage with customers when necessary.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with leadership.
  • Experience in retail or merchandising is preferred.
  • Familiarity with using power equipment for product displays and resets.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with inventory management and stock rotation.
  • Knowledge of Lowe's products and services.
