About the position

As a Merchandising Service Associate at Lowe's, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the customer experience through effective merchandising and service execution. Your primary responsibility will be to provide SMART customer service, ensuring that all interactions with customers are positive and informative. You will build relationships with vendors and collaborate with the Merchandising Service team and your manager to communicate project priorities and needs. This role requires you to analyze metrics and provide feedback on project execution and in-store service to store, market, and corporate leaders. In this position, while the majority of your time will be spent on tasks that do not involve direct customer interaction, you will still engage with customers when opportunities arise. You will assist customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise, ensuring that their needs are met. You will also be responsible for communicating information about stock, special orders, and warranty details related to Lowe's programs. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining in-stock levels by moving or replacing beams and grids, rotating stock, and building displays using power equipment. You will identify and manage damaged products, verify buyback items, and ensure that all signage and pricing information is accurate and visible. Additionally, you will work with store leadership to stage clearance and damaged merchandise for quick sale, ensuring that the store is organized and appealing to customers. Safety and cleanliness are paramount in this role. You will review and complete tasks related to merchandise resets and maintenance, ensuring that all displays are safe and in working order. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and secure work environment, adhering to safety requirements, and operating store equipment as needed. This position may require you to perform additional duties as assigned, including maintaining point-of-sale signage and auditing pricing labels to ensure accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Provides SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs
  • Builds relationships with vendors by providing direction and checking to ensure merchandise resets are completed according to Lowe's specifications
  • Collaborates with the Merchandising Service team and Manager by communicating project priorities, schedule, and project needs
  • Analyzes metrics and provides feedback on project execution and in-store service to store, market, and corporate leaders
  • Understands customers' needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise
  • Seeks out customers to understand their needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise
  • Listens to and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions
  • Moves or replaces beams and grids, rotates stock, builds products, and displays products and support materials using power equipment
  • Identifies damaged products, removes them from the shelves, and delivers them to Return to Manufacturer (RTM) area
  • Verifies buyback items and ensures they are pulled, prepped, and ready for shipping
  • Identifies damaged or missing signage, displays, and collateral and orders replacements
  • Updates/validates wayfinding and product location signage
  • Confirms that product pricing information is visible and clear and resolves/replaces any missing pricing labels
  • Ensures cross merchandise, side stack products, j-hooks and gravity feed bins are placed appropriately
  • Works with store leadership to stage clearance and damaged merchandise for quick sale
  • Reviews, completes, and enters completion details for all assigned merchandise reset, service, and maintenance tasks
  • Ensures all reset displays are safe and in working order and repaired/replaced as needed
  • Removes all trash, moves cardboard boxes to the bailer, and moves plastic wrap and other debris to the compactor
  • Replaces light bulbs and alerts Facility Services Associate (FSA) when additional maintenance issues are noted
  • Detects common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks, and communicates them to management and/or Asset Protection
  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment, which may include conducting daily safety reviews
  • Adheres to all safety requirements relevant to one's regular job duties
  • Operates store equipment as needed depending on one specific role and department
  • Maintains point-of-sale signage including bin plus beam label stock ensuring all bin locators are placed and price changes are activated
  • Audits and updates pricing labels inside and outside the store to ensure accuracy

Requirements
