About the position

As a Merchandising Service Associate at Lowe's, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service while executing merchandising tasks. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that merchandise resets are completed according to Lowe's specifications, which involves building relationships with vendors and collaborating with the Merchandising Service team and Manager. You will communicate project priorities, schedules, and needs, while also analyzing metrics to provide feedback on project execution and in-store service to store, market, and corporate leaders. Although the majority of your time will be spent on tasks that do not involve direct customer interaction, you will be expected to engage with customers when opportunities arise. This includes understanding customers' needs and assisting them in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise. You will also be responsible for listening to and responding knowledgeably to customer and employee questions, demonstrating sincere appreciation to customers, and communicating information regarding stock, special orders, and warranty information related to Lowe's programs. In terms of in-stock responsibilities, you will move or replace beams and grids, rotate stock, build products, and display products and support materials using power equipment. You will identify damaged products, verify buyback items, and ensure that product pricing information is visible and clear. Additionally, you will work with store leadership to stage clearance and damaged merchandise for quick sale, sort products in bins, drawers, and boxes, and maintain a clean and safe store environment. You will also be accountable for reviewing and entering completion details for all assigned merchandise reset, service, and maintenance tasks. This includes ensuring that all reset displays are safe and in working order, repairing damaged packaging, and maintaining compliance with housekeeping standards. Your role will require you to operate store equipment as needed and adhere to all safety requirements relevant to your job duties. Overall, you will be a key player in maintaining the store's organization, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Provides SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs
  • Builds relationships with vendors by providing direction and checking to ensure merchandise resets are completed according to Lowe's specifications
  • Collaborates with the Merchandising Service team and Manager by communicating project priorities, schedule, and project needs
  • Analyzes metrics and provides feedback on project execution and in-store service to store, market, and corporate leaders
  • Understands customers' needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise
  • Seeks out customers to understand their needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise
  • Listens to and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions
  • Demonstrates sincere appreciation to customers
  • Communicates information to customers regarding all stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information
  • Moves or replaces beams and grids, rotates stock, builds products, and displays products and support materials using power equipment
  • Identifies damaged products, removes them from the shelves, and delivers them to Return to Manufacturer (RTM) area
  • Verifies buyback items and ensures they are pulled, prepped, and ready for shipping
  • Identifies damaged or missing signage, displays, and collateral and orders replacements
  • Updates/validates wayfinding and product location signage
  • Confirms that product pricing information is visible and clear and resolves/replaces any missing pricing labels
  • Ensures cross merchandise, side stack products, j-hooks and gravity feed bins are placed appropriately
  • Works with store leadership to stage clearance and damaged merchandise for quick sale
  • Sorts products in bins, drawers and boxes to ensure that they are in the proper location
  • Reviews, completes, and enters completion details for all assigned merchandise reset, service, and maintenance tasks
  • Ensures all reset displays are safe and in working order and repaired/replaced as needed
  • Repairs/seals damaged packaging and boxes including peg-hook items
  • Removes all trash, moves cardboard boxes to the bailer, and moves plastic wrap and other debris to the compactor
  • Replaces light bulbs and alerts Facility Services Associate (FSA) when additional maintenance issues are noted
  • Detects common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks, and promptly communicates them to management and/or Asset Protection
  • Ensures compliance with housekeeping standards and programs to maintain cleanliness and organization of store and working areas
  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment, which may include conducting daily safety reviews, noting hazards, keeping aisles clear, and securing doors and gates
  • Adheres to all safety requirements relevant to one's regular job duties
  • Operates store equipment as needed depending on one specific role and department
  • Maintains point-of-sale signage including bin plus beam label stock ensuring all bin locators are placed and price changes are activated
  • Audits and updates pricing labels inside and outside the store to ensure accuracy
  • Follows state-specific guidelines on price changes.

Requirements

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and build relationships with vendors
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and management
  • Ability to analyze metrics and provide feedback on project execution
  • Experience in merchandising or retail environments
  • Familiarity with power equipment and safety protocols
  • Ability to lift and move merchandise as needed
  • Attention to detail to ensure compliance with merchandising standards and pricing accuracy
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and communication.
