About the position

The Customer Service role at Lowe's is designed to provide SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs. This position involves building relationships with vendors by providing direction and ensuring that merchandise resets are completed according to Lowe's specifications. The individual will collaborate with the Merchandising Service team and Manager by communicating project priorities, schedules, and project needs, including materials, supplies, and time. Analyzing metrics and providing feedback on project execution and in-store service to store, market, and corporate leaders is also a key responsibility. Although the majority of time will be spent in activities that do not involve direct interaction with customers, the individual in this role is expected to engage with customers when opportunities arise. This includes understanding customers' needs and assisting them in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise. The role requires seeking out customers to understand their needs and responding knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions by guiding them through the store and projects when necessary. Demonstrating sincere appreciation to customers and communicating information regarding stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information related to Lowe's programs is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provides SMART customer service at all times through the execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Builds relationships with vendors by providing direction and ensuring merchandise resets are completed according to Lowe's specifications.
  • Collaborates with the Merchandising Service team and Manager by communicating project priorities, schedules, and project needs.
  • Analyzes metrics and provides feedback on project execution and in-store service to store, market, and corporate leaders.
  • Engages with customers to understand their needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise.
  • Listens to and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions, guiding them through the store and projects when necessary.
  • Demonstrates sincere appreciation to customers and communicates information regarding stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information.
  • Moves or replaces beams and grids, rotates stock, builds products, and displays products and support materials using power equipment per reset and/or project instructions.
  • Identifies damaged products, removes them from the shelves, and delivers them to the Return to Manufacturer (RTM) area.
  • Verifies buyback items and ensures they are pulled, prepped, and ready for shipping.
  • Identifies damaged or missing signage, displays, and collateral and orders replacements in accordance with merchandising standards.
  • Updates/validates wayfinding and product location signage and maintains digital information throughout the store.
  • Confirms that product pricing information is visible and clear and resolves/replaces any missing pricing labels.
  • Ensures cross merchandise, side stack products, j-hooks, and gravity feed bins are placed appropriately to drive add-on sales.
  • Works with store leadership to stage clearance and damaged merchandise for quick sale.
  • Sorts products in bins, drawers, and boxes to ensure proper location and organization.
  • Reviews, completes, and enters completion details for all assigned merchandiser reset, service, and maintenance tasks.
  • Ensures all reset displays are safe and in working order and repaired/replaced as needed.
  • Repairs/seals damaged packaging and boxes including peg-hook items.
  • Removes all trash, moves cardboard boxes to the bailer, and moves plastic wrap and other debris to the compactor.
  • Replaces lightbulbs and alerts Facility Services Associate (FSA) when additional maintenance issues are noted.
  • Detects common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks, and communicates them to management and/or Asset Protection.
  • Ensures compliance with housekeeping standards and programs to maintain cleanliness and organization of store and working areas.
  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment, conducting daily safety reviews and noting hazards.
  • Adheres to all safety requirements relevant to job duties, including top stock safety and use of safety devices.
  • Operates store equipment as needed depending on specific role and department.

Requirements

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and build relationships with customers and vendors.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and management.
  • Ability to analyze metrics and provide constructive feedback on project execution.
  • Experience in retail or customer service environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with merchandising standards and planogram details.
