About the position

Transitions Healthcare Washington PA is currently seeking a dedicated Personal Care Aide (PCA) to join our team of talented caregivers. This position is available for the second shift, which runs from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, and the third shift, from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, Monday through Friday, with no weekend shifts required. As a Personal Care Aide, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. Your responsibilities will include bathing and assisting residents with their activities of daily living (ADLs), monitoring stock levels of equipment to ensure that all necessary supplies are available, and recommending changes in techniques and procedures for cost-effective and efficient operations. You will also be expected to perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor or administration, demonstrating your ability to function independently while being a team player. We value personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies. A genuine caring attitude towards maintaining and enhancing a positive physical, emotional, and psychosocial environment for our residents, visitors, and personnel is essential. You will be working with a diverse population, including the ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally unstable residents of the facility, which requires compassion and understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Bathe and assist residents with their activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Monitor stock levels of equipment to ensure they are maintained on premises to meet residents' needs.
  • Recommend changes in techniques and/or procedures for cost-effective and efficient operation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or administration.
  • Function independently while being a team player.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and personal integrity in all interactions.
  • Maintain a positive physical, emotional, and psychosocial environment for residents, visitors, and personnel.
  • Relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally unstable residents.

Requirements

  • Must genuinely care about others.
  • CPR Certification is required.
  • First Aid Certification is required.
