About the position

The Operations Specialist at Lake Elmo Bank is a vital role that focuses on providing exceptional customer service and support for our Digital Banking and Operations products and services. This position is responsible for a variety of tasks that include reconciling, balancing, and auditing bank accounts, loans, and wire transfers. The Operations Specialist will also assist customers with digital banking inquiries, ensuring that they receive timely and effective support. In this position, the Operations Specialist will engage in daily activities such as reconciling various general ledger and bank control accounts, balancing correspondent bank accounts, and processing foreign check items. The role also involves handling customer inquiries related to digital banking products, processing return deposited items, and assisting with daily wire transfers. Additionally, the Operations Specialist will oversee the logging of international wire transfers, conduct audits of domestic wire transfer information, and perform document scanning tasks. The position requires a commitment to providing outstanding service to both internal and external customers, contributing to a positive work environment, and supporting the Digital Banking and Operations Manager with various tasks as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of regulatory and accounting principles, the ability to interpret rules and regulations, and the capacity to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in computer navigation, particularly with Microsoft Office applications, is essential, along with strong verbal and written communication skills. The Operations Specialist will also need to demonstrate analytical problem-solving abilities and a keen aptitude for technology and technical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile various general ledger and bank control accounts.
  • Balance correspondent bank accounts and in-process accounts daily.
  • Balance Deposit and Loan applications monthly.
  • Process foreign check items.
  • Handle customer and employee inquiries related to digital banking products, including online banking services and debit cards, through phone calls.
  • Process Return Deposited Items.
  • Assist with processing/verifying daily wire transfers.
  • Oversee the daily logging of international wire transfers and conduct audits of domestic wire transfer information.
  • Process Lockbox transactions.
  • Perform document scanning tasks.
  • Assist with the reporting of quarterly State Trust accounts.
  • Set up automatic loan payments for Lake Elmo Bank.
  • Conduct audits of cross-application data entries across departments and review security reports for unauthorized access to Jack Henry 20/20 systems.
  • Biweekly processing of the 314 FinCEN report.
  • Learn/understand the technical aspects of electronic banking.
  • Support the Digital Banking and Operations Manager with additional tasks as needed.
  • Provide internal and external customers with personal service by striving to meet their needs in a timely and friendly manner.
  • Contribute to a positive and productive work environment by working cooperatively and effectively as a member of a specific work group as well as a member of the entire Lake Elmo Bank team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Associates Degree or equivalent with 2 or more years of work experience preferred.
  • Previous bank experience is preferred.
  • Previous bookkeeping/accounting experience in a bank environment preferred.
  • AAP Designation preferred (Accredited Automated Clearing Professional).
