About the position
The Java Developer with AWS CDK position is a full-time role focused on developing and automating backend applications using Java and AWS technologies. The role requires a strong understanding of full-stack development, continuous integration, and cloud services, with an emphasis on test automation and agile methodologies. The position is hybrid, requiring onsite presence three days a week in Atlanta, GA.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend applications using Java and AWS CDK.
- Design and write automated tests for backend applications and data flow.
- Work with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins and Circle CI.
- Collaborate in an agile development environment using workload management tools.
- Troubleshoot and deploy applications, transforming business requirements into technical solutions.
- Optimize performance and ensure data integrity in system integrations.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in Java and full-stack development.
- Experience with GitHub and/or GitLab, SonarQube, JUnit, and Spring Boot.
- Skilled in writing and designing unit test cases using TDD and BDD methodologies.
- Hands-on experience in virtualizing services for test automation using tools like Wire Mock and Mockito.
- Experience designing and writing automated tests using tools such as Postman and REST Assured.
- Broad hands-on experience in AWS Cloud serverless components like ECS, EKS, S3, and Lambda.
- Experience with relational and object databases and web service development standards.
- Strong troubleshooting and deployment experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems with 4+ years of experience.
- Hands-on experience creating test reports from automation test runs.
- Experience with OpenShift and working knowledge of MQ.
- AWS Certification is a plus.
- DevOps and/or automation experience in code testing and deployment.
- Experience in the airline industry.
