About the position

The Academic Counselor and Coordinator for Student Activities at Coastal Carolina Community College is responsible for overseeing student activities and the Student Government Association (SGA). This role promotes student retention, progression, and completion through high-impact practices and provides educational, career, and limited personal/social counseling services. The position involves collaboration with faculty and staff to support the College's success model and requires local travel and some evening work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight for student activities and the Student Government Association (SGA).
  • Promote student retention, progression, and completion through high-impact practices.
  • Represent the College in recruitment and community activities.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to support the College's comprehensive success model.
  • Provide educational, career, and limited personal/social counseling services.
  • Assist with other essential functions of the Student Services division to advance student success initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Counseling is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with digital platforms is required.
  • Previous work experience in a community college or higher education setting is preferred.
