About the position

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) at Altra Homecare is responsible for providing compassionate in-home care to clients, focusing on their independence and daily needs. This role involves assisting with personal care tasks, companionship, and ensuring the safety and comfort of clients in their homes. The PCA will work closely with clients to build strong relationships and personalized care plans, making a significant difference in their lives.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care including bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Prepare light meals and assist with feeding
• Provide medication reminders (not administration)
• Perform housekeeping and laundry tasks
• Assist with ambulation and transfers
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to supervisor
• Provide companionship and social engagement
• Document care provided and adhere to protocols
• Maintain a clean and safe environment

Requirements

• 18 years or older
• Valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Compassionate, patient, and reliable with a positive attitude
• Ability to follow instructions and learn new skills
• CPR/First Aid certification
