About the position
The Full Time Professional Staff Nurse at UPMC Horizon is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in the Resource Pool at the Shenango Valley and Greenville campuses. This role involves managing patient care activities, collaborating with healthcare teams, and ensuring positive patient outcomes through effective communication and leadership. The position offers opportunities for professional growth and development within a supportive environment dedicated to enhancing the patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with patients and colleagues.
- Demonstrate knowledge of adult learning principles in teaching patients and families.
- Apply the nursing process to create a healing environment and formulate care plans.
- Communicate effectively with care providers and document patient care comprehensively.
- Participate in unit-based shared governance and quality improvement efforts.
- Adapt to changes in the work environment and support team members as needed.
Requirements
- Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state of Pennsylvania or a state covered by a licensure compact agreement.
- Zero to two years of nursing experience; BSN preferred.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with patients and healthcare teams.
- Good clinical judgment and critical thinking skills related to patient care.
- Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.
Nice-to-haves
- UPMC approved national certification preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare setting with a focus on patient care.
