About the position

The Board-level Digital Circuit Design / Electrical Engineer role is a full-time position based in Lake Forest, California, requiring extensive experience in digital and analog circuit design. The engineer will be responsible for designing and developing complex circuit boards, ensuring compliance with safety and reliability standards, and working on various communication interfaces. This position demands immediate availability and strong communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of circuit design principles and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop microcontroller/microprocessor-based circuits.
  • Create board-level digital circuits including memory, I2C/SPI devices, and ADC/DAC.
  • Develop board-level analog circuits such as sensor conditioning, op amps, filters, and power supplies.
  • Implement wired communication interfaces like Ethernet, CAN bus, MIPI, and USB.
  • Ensure signal integrity, power integrity, and address transmission line theory in PCBA layout.
  • Apply design principles for EMC, safety, and reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or higher.
  • 12+ years of relevant experience in circuit design.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Experience with microcontroller/microprocessor-based circuit design.
  • Proficiency in board-level digital and analog circuit design.
  • Knowledge of wired communication interfaces and their implementation.
  • Extensive knowledge of signal integrity and power integrity.

Nice-to-haves

  • Deep understanding of wireless communication interfaces including Wi-Fi, ZigBee, Bluetooth, and RFID.
  • Experience in medical device development under 21 CFR Part 820.
  • Familiarity with CPLD/FPGA/ASIC development using Verilog or VHDL.
  • Experience with PCBA layout tools such as Allegro or Altium.
