About the position

As a Sales Associate in the Inside Lawn & Garden department at Lowe's, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining a clean, safe, and well-stocked store environment. Your primary responsibility will be to assist customers with their home improvement project needs, ensuring they feel welcomed and supported throughout their shopping experience. This includes validating loading tickets, processing orders and deliveries accurately, and engaging in safe work practices. You will be expected to listen to customers, provide expert advice, and help them select the right products for their projects. Additionally, you will be responsible for loading merchandise for customers and ensuring that all customer needs are met promptly and efficiently. The role of a Customer Service Associate varies depending on the department you support, which may include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Millwork, Fashion Plumbing, Outlet, Tool Rental, Pro, or Windows & Walls. Your ability to adapt to different areas of the store will be essential, as you may be considered for any of these departments based on hiring needs and your skillset. You will also need to remain vigilant and report any safety or security concerns around the store's entrance, contributing to a safe shopping environment for both customers and staff. This position requires flexibility in scheduling, as you will need to be available for morning, afternoon, and evening shifts any day of the week. The physical demands of the job include the ability to stand, sit, and perform other activities for extended periods, as well as lifting merchandise as required by the department you are assigned to. Overall, your role as a Sales Associate will be crucial in ensuring that customers have a positive experience at Lowe's, leading to increased customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality customer service to all customers.
  • Validate loading tickets and process orders and deliveries accurately.
  • Engage in safe work practices and encourage others to do the same.
  • Assist customers in selecting the right products for their home improvement projects.
  • Ensure quotes are accurate and verify correct price labels.
  • Load merchandise for customers and ensure their needs are met.
  • Report any safety or security concerns around the store entrance.
  • Adapt to various departments as needed based on hiring needs.

Requirements

  • 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
  • 6 months experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets.
  • Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Nice-to-haves

  • 6 months of sales experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs.
  • 6 months of retail experience providing customer service, including resolving customer issues and assisting customers in locating products.
  • Bi-lingual skills, if applicable to the store.
  • Certification in trade related to department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, and lumber/building materials).
