About the position
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) position at CommuniCare Rehab offers a full-time opportunity to work directly with residents at Pleasant Valley Healthcare Center. The role focuses on providing therapy to improve communication, swallowing, and cognitive skills, making a significant impact on residents' quality of life. Responsibilities
- Evaluate, review, and screen patient's/resident's medical charts and develop a treatment plan based on their needs.
- Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to improve communication, swallowing, and cognitive problems.
- Administer, score, and interpret specialized speech tests.
- Instruct residents, families, and caregivers on monitoring speech and practicing new skills, including diet recommendations and modifications for safe swallowing techniques.
- Attend and lead interdisciplinary meetings to relay clinical findings and make recommendations to the rehab team and participate in family meetings/education.

Requirements
- Must have a Bachelor's and/or a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Hold a valid or pending State Speech Language Pathology License.
