About the position

The Vice President of Finance and College Operations at Nicolet College is responsible for leading the financial and operational aspects of the college. This role involves strategic leadership, budget management, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations while fostering collaboration across departments. The VP will work closely with the President and the Strategic Leadership Team to implement policies and strategies that align with the college's mission to transform lives and enrich communities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve on the President's Strategic Leadership Team and participate in the development and implementation of College-wide strategy and administrative policies.
  • Prepare, submit, and administer timely and accurate College budgets and financial reports.
  • Direct the annual budget development process, including preparation of key assumptions and strategies for efficient allocation of financial resources.
  • Prepare long-range financial forecasts to ensure long-term financial stability.
  • Represent the College at meetings, conferences, and community affairs, maintaining memberships in professional associations.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of financial strategy, budgeting, accounting, payroll, and compliance.
  • Research and analyze data to inform decision-making and ensure fiscal compliance.
  • Administer facility and real estate planning, including funding and construction services.
  • Supervise College leaders in Business Services, Information Technology, and Campus Facilities.
  • Oversee legal compliance and risk management across all operational areas.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in business administration, Public Administration, Finance/Accounting, or related field with a minimum of seven years of progressive administration and leadership experience.
  • OR Bachelor's degree in business administration, Public Administration, Finance/Accounting, or related field with a minimum of twelve years of progressive administration and leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, internal controls, and cash management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, students, and the public.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Public sector or higher education experience.
