About the position

The Global E-Commerce Data Intelligence team is focused on enhancing the e-commerce experience through data insights and analytics. This team is dedicated to developing capabilities that allow users to extract actionable insights from data, thereby maximizing their potential and efficiency on the platform. The role of a Fullstack Software Engineer involves architecting and developing efficient front-end systems that drive complex web applications for e-commerce products, while also collaborating closely with product and data teams to evolve data-empowered capabilities in various verticals such as data visualization and market intelligence. The engineer will be responsible for optimizing code to improve the scalability, reliability, security, and performance of web applications. Continuous improvement in engineering excellence is a key focus, as is leading research and development into optimizations for backend systems, including data security and systems architecture. The position also involves providing professional and technical leadership to support the growth of individual team members within a highly effective product engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of product ownership, be a quick self-learner, and have a passion for software development and building great applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop data insights capabilities for global e-commerce platform, enabling users to extract actionable insights and intelligence from data to maximize their revenue potential and decision-making efficacy.
• Collaborate closely with product and data teams to evolve data-empowered capabilities in data visualization, operational analysis, intelligent diagnosis, product/strategy optimization, market intelligence, etc.
• Architect and develop efficient and highly reusable front-end systems that drive complex web applications for e-commerce products.
• Optimize code to improve scalability, reliability, security, and performance of web applications.
• Drive continuous improvements to engineering excellence and efficiency, leading research & development into key areas of optimizations for backend systems and services, including data security, systems architecture, and computational efficiency & scalability.
• Drive and shape the growth of a highly effective product engineering team, providing professional and technical leadership to support the professional growth of individual team members.

Requirements

• B.S or higher degree in Computer Science or related fields from accredited and reputable institutions.
• 2+ years experience developing highly scalable backend services and systems using at least one of Java/Golang/Python/Scala/C++, JavaScript/HTML/CSS, and at least one of React/Vue/Angular and packaging frameworks like Webpack/Rollup/BaBel/AST/Gulp. Qualified fresh graduates would also be considered.
• Strong software programming capabilities, exhibiting good code design and coding style.
• Deep understanding of data structure, algorithm design and analysis, networking, data security, and highly scalable systems design.
• In-depth knowledge of common databases and messaging frameworks like MySQL/Redis/Kafka etc.
• Exhibits strong product/business understanding, able to align product engineering directions to support current and future product and business evolutions.
