About the position

The Tax Manager - Generalist position is a remote role within a boutique firm that provides tax, accounting, and audit services to a diverse range of clients across the U.S. The firm is seeking an experienced tax manager with a strong technical background to handle a variety of tax returns and provide oversight on complex transactions, particularly in real estate. The role involves both preparation and review of tax returns, with a focus on S-Corps, C-Corps, Partnerships, and individual tax returns.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review tax returns for S-Corps, C-Corps, Partnerships, and individuals.
  • Handle multi-state tax returns and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients with revenues ranging from $10 million to $100 million.
  • Provide technical guidance on 754 elections and 1031 exchanges.
  • Assist in transaction and business advisory services as needed.
  • Mentor and support junior staff in tax preparation and review processes.

Requirements

  • Active CPA or EA certification.
  • 10+ years of experience in public accounting.
  • High level of technical knowledge in tax regulations and compliance.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing a wide range of tax returns.
  • Ability to manage 300-500 returns annually.
  • Experience working with clients in the $10 million - $100 million revenue range.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong experience with Gift, Trust, and Estate Returns.
  • Experience signing off on returns.
  • Transaction and business advisory experience.
