About the position

The Data Quality Functional Analyst position at the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) is responsible for ensuring the integrity and quality of data used across the agency and the 34 community and technical colleges in Washington State. This role involves managing data coding structures, conducting root cause analysis for data issues, and producing quality assurance reports. The analyst will also support data governance initiatives and collaborate with various teams to enhance data management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead administrator and primary point of contact for the Quality Assurance System (QARS).
  • Provide coding support and assistance for SBCTC and college staff, including technical assistance referrals.
  • Assist colleges with coding requirements and troubleshoot data-related errors.
  • Collaborate with ctcLink Support functional analysts to implement configuration changes aligned with Data Warehouse coding requirements.
  • Support Data Governance activities by creating digital work areas and maintaining records of meetings and decisions.
  • Identify recurring data issues and collaborate across functional areas to resolve them.
  • Develop and maintain Data Services documentation, including coding manuals and data dictionaries.
  • Maintain Data Services and Data Governance pages internally and externally.
  • Coordinate projects as assigned.
  • Continuously assess and improve application services processes for efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and leverage emerging technologies for digital transformation initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in PeopleSoft applications.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or related field.
  • A minimum of six years of technical experience in Information Technology within data management.
  • A minimum of four years experience with Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Access
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
  • Working knowledge of Sharepoint
  • Ability to read and write Structured Query Language (SQL)
