About the position

This role at Highmark Health encompasses dual responsibilities that are critical to the success of the organization. The primary focus will be on supporting Epic Clarity report writing and engaging in various analytical aspects of the product management lifecycle. The incumbent will collaborate closely with Business Intelligence teams and healthcare professionals to gather, organize, and present data in a manner that is accessible and meaningful to users. This includes creating both basic and ad hoc reports, training users on software, and assisting them with advanced reporting needs. A strong background in writing EPIC Clarity reports and administering EPIC Reporting Workbench is essential for this role. In addition to report writing, the position involves supporting product management by utilizing sound judgment and discretion to work with customers and business stakeholders. This includes understanding their needs, identifying opportunities, and creating business cases and cost analyses that align with the product strategy. The incumbent will translate high-level business needs into detailed requirements for new or modified capabilities, perform research, analyze data to identify business problems and trends, and recommend process improvements. Collaboration with business stakeholders and delivery partners is crucial to prioritize business capabilities in the product backlog and ensure timely, quality delivery of solutions. The role also requires the identification, documentation, and resolution of risks, defects, and issues, as well as analyzing market trends to provide competitive insights that inform business value statements. The incumbent will build organizational and platform knowledge to advance their professional career and mentor junior resources. A thorough understanding of the assigned business platform and its integration points is necessary to effectively manage delivery across the product management lifecycle. Overall, this position plays a vital role in ensuring that Highmark Health meets its strategic objectives through effective data reporting and product management practices.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Customers, Business Stakeholders, Vendors, Designers, IT Delivery Partners, and other team members to capture capability needs and drive quality business solutions.
  • Create and maintain deliverables such as business vision, business requirements, customer personas, stakeholder and/or journey maps, product capability roadmaps, product KPIs/metrics, and implementation/delivery plans.
  • Participate in the full product management delivery life cycle by actively engaging with business and IT delivery teams using modern product management practices and methodologies, such as Agile/Scrum, Kanban, etc.
  • Support various aspects of business analysis, business requirements definition and documentation, business user testing, and full product capability delivery to ensure minimal production defects are realized.
  • Effectively communicate with team members, customers, partners, and management, including conducting business and product requirement walkthroughs and sprint reviews, and reporting project/delivery status.
  • Participate in sprint plans and reviews to ensure product capability development aligns with customer needs and defined business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance for required standards and obtain all necessary approvals throughout the product management and delivery project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Information Technology, Information Systems or related field (or 6 years of related experience in lieu of a degree).
  • 3 years in a Business Analysis and/or Analyst role.
  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma and/or Process Improvement is preferred.
  • Experience in the Health Insurance Industry is preferred.
  • Experience in the Healthcare Industry is preferred.
