About the position

The Functional Product Analyst role at Highmark Health involves dual responsibilities in supporting Epic Clarity report writing and various analytical aspects of the product management lifecycle. The position requires collaboration with business intelligence and healthcare professionals to present data effectively, as well as engaging with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable business requirements. The analyst will also participate in product management practices, ensuring quality delivery and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Support Epic Clarity report writing by collaborating with Business Intelligence and healthcare professionals to gather and present data.
  • Create basic and ad hoc reporting for users and train them on software for advanced reporting.
  • Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to understand their needs and identify opportunities for product strategy.
  • Translate high-level business needs into detailed business requirements for new or modified capabilities.
  • Analyze data to determine business problems and trends, and recommend process improvements.
  • Work with stakeholders to prioritize business capabilities in the product backlog.
  • Provide root cause analysis and corrective action plans for identified issues.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, conducting requirement walkthroughs and sprint reviews.
  • Participate in sprint plans and reviews to ensure alignment with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with required standards and obtain necessary approvals throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Information Technology, Information Systems or related field, or 6 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 3 years of experience in a Business Analysis and/or Analyst role.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of experience with Lean/Six Sigma and/or Process Improvement.
  • 1 year of experience in the Health Insurance Industry.
  • 1 year of experience in the Healthcare Industry.
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Business Analysis Professional (IIBA) certification.
  • Human Centered Design (HCD)/Design Thinking certification.
