About the position

The Functional Product Analyst role at Highmark Health is designed to support both Epic Clarity report writing and various analytical aspects of the product management lifecycle. The incumbent will collaborate closely with Business Intelligence and healthcare professionals to gather, organize, and present data in a manner that is accessible to users. This includes creating meaningful analytics and reports, training users on software, and assisting with advanced reporting. A key requirement for this position is experience in writing EPIC Clarity reports and administering EPIC Reporting Workbench. In addition to report writing, the role involves supporting product management by utilizing sound judgment and discretion to engage with customers and business stakeholders. This includes understanding their needs, identifying opportunities, and creating business cases and cost analyses to support product strategy and roadmap evolution. The analyst will translate high-level business needs into detailed requirements for new or modified capabilities, conduct research, analyze data to identify business problems and trends, and recommend process improvements. The role also requires collaboration with stakeholders to prioritize business capabilities in the product backlog and ensure timely, quality delivery of customer needs. The analyst will participate in the full product management delivery lifecycle, employing modern methodologies such as Agile/Scrum and Kanban to manage product requirements, delivery plans, and testing. Effective communication with team members, customers, and management is essential, including conducting requirement walkthroughs and sprint reviews. The role also involves ensuring compliance with required standards and obtaining necessary approvals throughout the project lifecycle. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Work with customers, business stakeholders, vendors, designers, and IT delivery partners to capture capability needs and drive quality business solutions.
  • Create and maintain deliverables such as business vision, business requirements, customer personas, stakeholder and journey maps, product capability roadmaps, and product KPIs/metrics.
  • Participate in the full product management delivery life cycle using Agile/Scrum and Kanban methodologies to manage product requirements and delivery plans.
  • Support business analysis, requirements definition, documentation, and user testing to ensure minimal production defects and analyze results for customer impacts.
  • Effectively communicate with team members, customers, and management, including conducting requirement walkthroughs and sprint reviews.
  • Participate in sprint plans and reviews to ensure product capability development aligns with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with required standards and obtain necessary approvals throughout the product management and delivery project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Information Technology, Information Systems or related field, or 6 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 3 years of experience in a Business Analysis and/or Analyst role.
