About the position

The Fund Accountant & Administration Associate role at State Street involves performing daily fund accounting activities in accordance with generally accepted accounting procedures. The position requires collaboration within a team environment to ensure quality service and effective problem-solving. The role includes responsibilities such as preparing reconciliations, assisting in the audit process, and providing guidance to junior accountants.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of daily cash, position, and market value reconciliations including trade capture and pricing
• Assist in the Dealing Date accounting process
• Assist in reviewing and resolving reconciliations of portfolio cash and security accounts
• Opportunity to work on corporate actions, equities, fixed income, futures, options, and swaps
• Assist in semi-annual and annual audit process
• Handle more complex tasks
• Provide advice and serve as a point of reference for queries from junior fund accountants
• Identify any unusual or potentially suspicious transaction activity and report/escalate as necessary

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a Business-related area
• 2-3 years of experience preferred, but strong new graduates will be considered
• Proficiency in MS Excel
• Knowledge of financial products preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Highly numerate and IT literate
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
