About the position

The Fund Accounting Director at CBRE Investment Accounting & Reporting Solutions is responsible for overseeing fund reporting, managing client relationships, and providing strategic insights into financial performance. This role involves coordinating with internal and external partners, managing treasury functions, and leading a team to ensure effective fund management and compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Review fund financial statements and provide strategic insights and analysis.
• Handle portfolio budgets, forecasts, and reports for clients/investors.
• Serve as a liaison and strategically build relationships with key partners.
• Manage the treasury/cash management function for the client.
• Develop responses to RFPs and participate in sales pitches to present accounting solutions.
• Handle capital requests and budgeting progress, reviewing new contracts and business opportunities.
• Oversee fund structuring, joint venture structuring, and inquiries related to subscriptions and redemptions.
• Collaborate internally to handle special requirements as defined in the Management Agreement and Financial Services Agreement.
• Lead and support staff in areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 10+ years of accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience in fund (NAV) accounting, specifically with real estate accounting or fund accounting software systems such as Yardi.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) regulations.
• Proven knowledge of financial terms and principles including accounting methods (cash, accrual, and full GAAP).
• Confident understanding of real estate terms, definitions, and analytical methodology.
• Strong coordinative skills and well-developed judgment.
