About the position

The Fund Manager at Alter Domus will lead the Credit Funds team, providing mentorship and oversight while managing client relationships and ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards. This role involves significant interaction with clients and investors, as well as the management of financial statements and fund accounting processes. The position is pivotal in driving efficiencies and improvements within the team and the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mentorship and leadership to team members, ensuring their training and career development.
  • Serve as the lead contact for clients, investors, auditors, and other parties.
  • Manage and oversee the production of financial statements and supporting schedules, including journal entries and trial balances.
  • Review investor allocations, workpapers, and unaudited financial statements for both limited and general partners.
  • Perform reviews of IRRs and returns, discussing results with stakeholders.
  • Analyze management fees, incentive fees, and waterfall calculations.
  • Ensure fund/account compliance with client agreements.
  • Manage client expectations and communicate deliverables clearly and timely.
  • Assist with auditor communications and onboarding processes for new clients and funds.
  • Review and assist in spearheading ongoing Credit Fund automation projects.
  • Communicate with senior team members on the status of reports and projects.
  • Monitor and create fund/account efficiencies and ensure implementation of improvements.
  • Work with senior team members on special requests from clients.
  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional experience in fund management or related fields.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar discipline.
  • Expertise in Credit Fund Accounting and Bank Loan Markets operations.
  • In-depth understanding of private credit and structured product investments.
  • Experience preparing journal entries and managing fund accounting processes.
  • Deep knowledge of Fund Accounting technology platforms.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including advanced formulas and pivot tables.
  • Understanding of multiple vehicle structures including parallel, co-investor, blocker, feeder, and holding company structures.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand Alter Domus' accounting systems and reporting.
  • Skilled at proactively identifying issues and recommending long-term solutions.
  • Capacity to multitask and manage multiple client and fund deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills with clients and team members.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Experience managing a team is a plus.

  • Experience with private equity or hedge fund accounting.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance in fund management.
